Dev Blog #011 – Locked and Loaded

Last week was a big week for the team as we finally could go into proper production in all areas of the game. Monkey was able to get our new object interaction system into the game so we can now pick up and place down objects or even toss them somewhere. Marcelo was able to finish animating the core loops for our police officer and we were able to test it (rudimentary) in the game engine.

On the design / story front, Jason was finally able to distill our dialogue mechanic into a simple, implementable form. Using Articy:Draft, he created a series of templates to easily construct a conversation. Erick then took over and began laying out an entire scenario and was able to get into the program quickly with little obstructions. The goal is to be able to get the dialogue in by next week!

Finally, all our art assets are in full production. Helen has been busy creating all the 2D assets that we need. We’ve also brought on some additional help, with Victor returning to help build some assets. Jason has also moved over onto art now that he can get away from design. Very rapidly we have been able to see the game start to form!
