Dev Blog #014 – Back At It, This Time For Real

It has been a few weeks since we last posted as most of the team went on a much needed break, but we are now back together and preparing plans for the future of our company and the House of Usher. While we did give ourselves some time off, most of us kept pushing forward. Monkey has been making solid progress on implementing the XML files and connecting it into all the other game systems. Marcelo presented our work at the August Full Indie meetup, which drew some more attention to the game locally. Jason spent some time preparing our Phase 3 proposal so that the team can gain academic credit for the time we will be investing over our last semester at the CDM.

So what’s next? Well, we still have a long way to go to get the game to a playable state that we are happy with the product. We are going to spend some time evaluating what is working, what’s not, etc and begin planning how we will operate as a group going forward, knowing that we will all be doing this part time and remotely in the new year. We have a lot of research to do in regards to turning our student group into a legal business entity. We have a giant bucket of questions that we want to have answered before the end of this year. It’s going to be a fast and furious couple of months and we will keep you all updated!
